The East End of Melbourne

by William Dawson

Just before Christmas I returned to the same bridge featured in this post, ‘Old Railway Yard‘. The footbridge, called William Barak Bridge, spans 525 metres from Birrarung Marr to the MCG. As you can see in the photo below it provides a rather good view of the east end of Melbourne’s CBD. The sky, plus the way it reflects on the glass-panelled¬†building, is my favourite aspect of this image.

  1. Nice one. Its rare to see people photograph this end of town, well actually take a photo of the city skyline from this side of town. Like seeing something different. This would work great at night with a long exposure.

    • Funny you say that, as I have been thinking of going to this bridge again but at night. With a long exposure, trains running below and the buildings all lit up it should make for a pretty awesome shot.

  2. Such an imposing city barricade! Wonderful view and a great shot!
